Carol Martin has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism and a Master of Science Degree in Gifted/Talented Education.
Professional Experience
Carol Martin has been an award winning teacher of the gifted and talented, an educational consultant and a curriculum writer for twenty-eight years. She has set up and taught at gifted and talented programs in six different school districts in New York State. Additionally, Carol taught at and wrote curriculum for The Long Island University Center for Gifted Youth for fifteen years. She also has worked as an Alternate Learning Center Enrichment Teacher for gifted students with attention deficit disorder. Furthermore, Carol has worked for seven years as a seminar facilitator for the Davidson Institute for Talent Development. Finally, Carol has provided private mentoring and tutoring services for many years. Carol now specializes in verbal tutoring for standardized tests such as SAT® and ACT®, and advises students on college applications and college essays.
Carol is an artist, photographer, inventor and writer. She is currently expanding her SAT®curricula into new venues. Her first book Describing People: Vocabulary Enhancement For the SAT® and Beyond is now available.
