Seasmart Methods is a tutorial company which prepares students for the verbal communication parts of standardized tests: the SSAT®, SAT®, ACT®, GRE®, MCAT® and beyond. First, students learn grammar rules easily by using a set of strategies that make a significant difference in their writing skills. Next, students learn thousands of vocabulary words in a style that is different from the style of most tutorial companies. Finally, students learn to read with elan! Words no longer appear as black squiggles on white paper; words actually come alive through visualization and comprehension. Students smile when they fervently say, "I am not only doing well on the SAT®, but I am also reading, writing and speaking passionately in English and history class! My B’s have changed to A’s!"

Our Business

Seasmart Methods is the creation of Carol Martin who is the founder and President of the company.  Carol Martin personally tutors students for the critical reading, essay and writing(grammar)portions of the SAT®, ACT®, SSAT®, GRE® and MCAT®. Mrs. Martin tutors in person and online.

Although students most often use the method, many parents have enjoyed the "Seasmart" way and have reaped the benefits of a powerful, enhanced vocabulary. Often a parent will remark, "This method really changed my life; I can now sound so much more astute when speaking at my book club and at my job!"

The Carol Martin Method is unique and uses original, systematic and innovative methods. The method, not only prepares students for standardized testing, but also for life. Students enter college and/or graduate school with a powerhouse vocabulary and reading and writing skills that improve their ability to communicate both verbally and through the printed word forever.

Carol Martin has enjoyed outstanding success helping students apply to and be accepted to college. Many of Carol’s students now attend  some of the most prestigious universities in the world.

Who We Are

Many people ask me why I chose Seasmart Methods for the name of my tutorial company. The following is my heartfelt explanation.

As a teacher of the gifted and talented for many years, I enjoyed challenging students with puzzles. I love creating logic puzzles, word puzzles, analogies, codes and tessellations. Therefore, Seasmart Methods is another one of my puzzles.

The question was,"How do I get  my interests, motivations and name into one word?" Okay. Lets start with      " Sea." Sea is a homonym for C, my first initial which stands for my first name, Carol.

Additionally, I love the sea and as a child spent many years by the sea with my parents in their vacation home. The alluring sea is relaxing and enthralling. ln a world filled with so much work and frenzy, going to "see the sea" grounds one and makes one feel at peace with our beautiful planet. The goal of my teaching strategies is to integrate the words and reading and writing methods into one’s soul to become a permanent part of one's life...not just something to learn for a test.

The "s" after sea stands for my middle initial ...Sue. However, it also creates the anagram smart.. And this is what I try to do naturally; I make students smart! So I am making them "See smart".

Mart also stands for Martin, which is my last name. And to make the puzzle even more complex...I also teach art...so I incorporated that passion into my company name as well.

Anyway, travel to the sea when you can and "see smart", relax and try to integrate some of my learning methods into your life: SEASMART!
